Contemporary Linear Concentric Cream

RM 8,500RM 11,000

The contemporary hand-tufted rug tradition centred in Jaipur and Bhadohi, India, emerged in the latter twentieth century as a response to global modernist interiors, combining centuries of South Asian craftsmanship with reductive Western design vocabulary — producing pieces valued for their tactile precision and tonal restraint.

This piece, new and unworn, presents a rigorously executed concentric rectangle composition: an elongated central void expands outward through evenly spaced raised linear bands across the entire ivory-cream wool ground, the grooves between each band cut slightly deeper to cast a soft shadow line in warm grey, lending the flat surface an illusion of three-dimensional relief without resort to colour contrast.

No border treatment interrupts the composition — the outermost rectangle aligns flush with the rug's edge, reinforcing the architectural totality of the design. The palette is intentionally monochromatic, the cream ground shifting subtly between warm and cool depending on incident light. This is a rug of measured intellectual quietude — one that commands a room not through ornament but through geometric authority, suited to spaces where architecture and furnishing are asked to speak the same language.
