Moroccan All-Over Diamond Ivory

Morocco's hand-knotted weaving tradition draws on centuries of Berber tribal craft and Andalusian geometric refinement, producing pieces prized for their bold structural patterning and the singular honesty of undyed or naturally-toned wool.

This new 183x290 cm piece presents an all-over interlocking diamond lattice rendered entirely in a tonal palette of ivory, ecru, warm sand, and taupe — the field shifting through a soft ombre wash from bleached ivory at the upper field to a deeper, earthen taupe at the centre before returning to ivory at the lower margin, a gradient effect characteristic of Berber flatweave sensibility translated here into a knotted pile construction.

The repeat is fine and densely packed, each diamond intersection marked by a small dot node, lending the surface a woven textile quality reminiscent of Moroccan brocade cloth; the short ends are closed with a narrow border of angular bracket motifs that ground the composition without competing with the field. The piece carries a quiet, meditative authority — its restrained palette and rhythmic geometry suited to modernist and transitional interiors that demand material substance without chromatic assertiveness.
