This new wool rug presents an expansive ivory field of near-total repose, encircled first by a delicate procession of gold dot-chain motifs that trace the inner perimeter, then by a structured band of interlocking geometric vine work rendered in antique gold and muted slate blue — a pairing that evokes aged patina without artifice.
The outermost border is punctuated at each corner and along each midpoint by raised cartouches bearing stylized cloud-scroll or peony-derived forms in grey-white relief against the slate field, lending a quiet architectural rhythm to the composition. The palette — cool ivory, warm gold, and dusty blue-grey — is calibrated for restraint, allowing each element its weight without competition.
