This large-format hand-knotted piece in 274x366 cm is worked entirely in bamboo silk, a fibre prized for its silk-like luminosity, and presents a deliberately unadorned solid field in a cool steel blue that shifts perceptibly toward deep navy where the pile lays away from the light — a phenomenon of directionality inherent to hand-knotted bamboo silk that no machine-made equivalent can replicate.
