Kirman Allover Floral Ivory

Kirman — the storied weaving capital of southeastern Iran — has for centuries produced carpets celebrated for their fine knotting, luminous ivory fields, and lyrical curvilinear florals that sit at the apex of classical Persian court aesthetics.

This large-format antique example, measuring 296×369 cm, displays the characteristic Kirman allover composition: an uninterrupted field of sinuous vine scrollwork bearing open-faced rosettes, palmettes, and lotus clusters rendered in a palette of antique ivory, faded dusty rose, powder blue, and warm taupe — the colours aged to the muted, chalky softness that only a century or more of use can produce.

The pile is worn low and even, lending the surface a flat, painterly quality that fully exposes the intricacy of the drawing; the weave structure and fine wool quality remain consistent with southern Iranian production.
