Pak Tabriz Paisley Lattice Burgundy
The Lahore weaving ateliers of Pakistan have long perpetuated the refined aesthetic traditions of Persian Tabriz, producing carpets of exceptional technical finesse using time-honored methods passed through generations of master craftsmen. This newly completed example presents an elaborate all-over design wherein large-scale boteh paisley forms interlock to create an ogival lattice framework across a rich burgundy ground, each compartment filled with delicate arabesque scrollwork, palmette florets, and serrated leaf sprays rendered in soft ivory, antiqued gold, and subtle sage tones. The field design flows seamlessly into a complementary border system featuring reciprocal palmettes and meandering vine work, while navy accents punctuate the composition at strategic intervals, lending visual depth. Ivory fringes at the terminal ends provide classical finishing. The piece commands a scholarly presence suited to formal interiors where traditional Oriental carpet artistry is understood and appreciated.
