Antique Qashqai Tree Of Life

Woven by the legendary Qashqai confederacy of the Zagros Mountains in Southern Persia (Fars Province), this rug represents the pinnacle of nomadic weaving culture. Unlike city rugs produced in workshops, Qashqai rugs were traditionally woven on horizontal looms by women of the tribe during their seasonal migrations. This specific rug features a rare and highly collectible variation of the "Tree of Life" motif. Instead of a literal tree, the weaver has abstracted the concept into a vertical "Diamond Pole"—a central axis of interconnected diamond medallions that symbolize growth, connection between earth and heaven, and eternal life.
