This substantial hand-knotted wool piece presents the classic three-medallion Kazak format in its most archetypal expression: three large stepped-hexagonal medallions, each housing a central star rosette with radiating hooked appendages, are vertically aligned along an open madder-crimson field whose warmth is dramatically counterbalanced by generous ivory corner spandrels bearing dense tribal infill of stylized botanical and zoomorphic forms.
The palette is characteristically Caucasian — deep indigo blue anchors the wide main border, which carries a continuous register of reciprocal geometric devices and latch-hook vine motifs, while rust, dark navy, and touches of ivory animate the multiple guard stripes that articulate the composition's edges with measured precision.
