Bidjar Medallion Runner Red

Bidjar, the mountainous Kurdish weaving centre of northwestern Iran, produces carpets renowned throughout the trade as 'iron rugs' — their exceptional density and structural resilience achieved through wet-packing techniques passed down through generations of master weavers. This new runner presents five lobed hexagonal medallions in ivory and soft blue, each adorned with intricate floral pendants, cascading vertically along a luminous madder red field alive with the classic herati pattern of stylized fish leaves and rosettes; burgundy and navy spandrels anchor the corners while the primary border in deep navy carries a rhythmic procession of palmettes and scrolling vines against secondary ivory guard stripes. A piece of commanding presence suited to corridors and galleries where its chromatic depth and impeccable craftsmanship may be fully appreciated.
