Moud Compartmental Garden Red
The Moud weaving district of Khorasan province has long been celebrated for producing finely knotted carpets that blend the technical precision of Birjand workshops with distinctive compartmental garden designs inspired by classical Persian chahar bagh traditions. This new hand-knotted example presents an expansive field organized into a precise grid of rectangular panels, each containing individualized garden vignettes—cypress trees, flowering urns, and delicate floral sprays rendered in a rich palette of madder red, sage olive, cerulean teal, and deep navy against ivory grounds, with burgundy and gold accents lending warmth throughout. The ornamental red border frames the composition with scrolling vine work and palmette motifs, while visible fringe along the upper edge confirms the hand-knotted construction. A rug of considerable presence and chromatic depth, suited to formal interiors where its jewel-toned botanical narrative can command attention as both floor covering and collectible textile art.
